Daniel Job Makes His FC Dallas Debut in Win Over LAFC

For Daniel Job, Saturday night was more than just another game. It was the beginning of a new chapter.

The 21-year-old Nigerian winger officially made his FC Dallas debut at Toyota Stadium, coming off the bench late in the second half as Dallas held on for a 1-0 victory over Los Angeles FC.

Job entered the game in the 81st minute with FC Dallas protecting a narrow lead. There was little time for the young attacker to settle in, but simply stepping onto the field in front of the home crowd marked an important moment in his early MLS journey.

And while his first appearance lasted only a handful of minutes, it was a night Job will not soon forget.

FC Dallas brought Job to Frisco from Kongsvinger IL in Norway earlier this month after an impressive run in the Norwegian second tier. Before making the move to MLS, Job had recorded eight goals and nine assists in 20 appearances during the 2026 season.

Those numbers helped put him on FC Dallas’ radar and ultimately led to the club bringing him to Texas as part of its plans for the future.

Now, he has his first MLS minutes.

Job’s introduction came at a difficult point in the match. LAFC was pushing for an equalizer, while Dallas was focused on protecting its advantage and securing three important points. Job immediately had to adjust to the intensity of an MLS match and the pressure that comes with playing in a close game.

He did not have much time to make an impact, but he showed a willingness to get involved. He drew a foul near the top of the penalty area and helped give FC Dallas another attacking outlet during the closing minutes.

For a young player making his first appearance for a new club, those moments matter. The night itself belonged to FC Dallas.

Osaze Urhoghide’s second-half header proved to be the difference, giving FC Dallas the only goal it needed. The result extended Dallas’ unbeaten run to six games and strengthened its position near the top of the Western Conference.

But somewhere inside that team celebration was a young player experiencing something entirely new.

Job has spent the early part of his career building his reputation in Nigeria and Norway. Now, he is doing it in Major League Soccer.

FC Dallas has signed him to a U22 Initiative contract that runs through the 2029-30 MLS season, with a club option for the following year. The club sees him as a player with plenty of room to grow, particularly because of his speed, attacking ability and willingness to take on defenders.

Saturday was only the first glimpse. There will be bigger moments ahead. More minutes. More pressure. More opportunities to show FC Dallas supporters exactly what he can bring.

For now, Daniel Job can simply say he is an MLS player.

His first appearance is in the books and the journey has officially begun.
